Twitter is launching Blue For Business, a new variation of Blue Verified created to identify brand accounts from individual accounts.
In addition to a gold checkmark, Blue For Business features a square profile picture and the capability to link any associated Twitter accounts.
When business accounts designate their associated accounts, such as individual Twitter accounts of staff members, the affiliate gets an extra badge next to their confirmed checkmark.

In an article, Twitter provides numerous examples of how brand names can use Blue For Business:
“By producing this connection, we’re making it possible for businesses to develop networks within their own organizations– on Twitter. Businesses can affiliate their management, brand names, support handles, employees or teams. Journalists, sports group players or film characters can all be connected. You call it, we got it. Each affiliate will be verified and formally connected to their parent handle based on a list provided by the parent company. We will share any new criteria, rates or process as we update them.”
No matter how Twitter tries to spin it, there’s little doubt that Blue For Service is developed to sell more memberships.
If your brand and its affiliates are at risk of impersonation on Twitter, having actually everyone validated and connected under the same parent account might be rewarding.
